Privacy Policy ยท Last updated: April 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how AKids Dictionary ("the App", "we", "us"), developed and operated by AKids, based in Singapore, handles information when you use our mobile application on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
This policy complies with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA), the United States' Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) including its provisions for children's data.
We collect no personal data whatsoever. We do not collect:
No registration or account is required. The App functions entirely without personal data.
AKids Dictionary offers optional in-app subscriptions (USD $1/month or USD $10/year). All payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not see or store your payment details.
We use RevenueCat solely to verify subscription status. RevenueCat receives only an anonymous device token โ no personal information is transmitted. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
Singapore GST: Prices are in USD. GST where applicable is handled by Apple or Google as platform operators in accordance with IRAS guidelines.
AKids Dictionary is designed for children aged 3โ10. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. The App is completely ad-free and contains no social features, external links, or chat functions. No parental consent is required as no personal data is collected.
The App uses your device's built-in text-to-speech engine. This operates entirely on-device. No audio is recorded, stored, or transmitted. The device microphone is never accessed.
When a user searches for a word not in our built-in library, the App may send only the word text (no personal data) to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a child-friendly definition. Anthropic is US-based โ see anthropic.com/privacy.
The only data stored on your device is your subscription status (via RevenueCat's anonymous token) and your voice preference if changed. This data never leaves your device except for the anonymous subscription token to RevenueCat.
Under Singapore's PDPA, we note the following limited cross-border considerations:
Since no personal data as defined under the PDPA is transferred, these interactions fall outside the scope of PDPA cross-border transfer obligations.
Under Singapore's PDPA, individuals have the right to access, correct, and withdraw consent for personal data. As we collect no personal data, there is nothing to access or correct. Contact us below with any concerns.
All API communications use HTTPS encryption. The App requests only the minimum device permissions necessary to function.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
